Introduction to Sociology/Stratification/Eunji Lim //

Social Stratification, What Is That?

We were able to learn sociologists aspects of dealing with the theme of 'inequality'.

I found that inequality arose from having more or less.
You can also learn how layering occurs in what you have a lot of.

We could deal with stratification in various aspects of power, property, and prestige,
In the wiki, we talk about theories of social inequality, especially in terms of goods.

As we began to recognize inequality and move toward equality, we could  learned about the
known theories.

Distinguish society through economic power

This wiki, especially from a capitalist point of view, seemed to be the focus of the story.

I think the most visible and most visible aspect of inequality is the economic aspect.
In this run, we divided the central, sub-central and neighboring countries according to the size of the country's economy and talk about the inequalities fixed by economic power.

This was what we discussed when we learned about 'economic sociology'.
I object to the distinction of countries, especially by size. This is because it recognizes the proposition that "the country that has been exploited is the neighboring country." In their lives and cultures, their countries are at the center of their own, and other countries around them will be around.

Therefore, I thought that the word "economy" should be replaced with the words "economic center" and "economic neighboring country" before the word "central economy".

My thoughts on stratification and classification

I think it is good to look at social structure through stratification academically, but there was bitterness when I thought that my class was distinguished through the presented theory even though I did not want to.

However, if this stratification study helps to improve the absurd structure of society, the research should continue. I was thinking about layering and I got a question.A person with a high power or prestige status may have low property status and some people with low prestige status have a high status. I think that the most important value for everyone can not be the same.

The most important value to them is social wealth, or social reputation and honor Or political power. In these cases, should we call them upper class? What are their classes?

( I made this graph to show how stratification distinguished)
