2. Social class in Korea
A simple example of Korea's stratification is 'spoon theory'. It is coined word of self-expression that social class is divided according to the wealth inherited from the parent. It is regardless of the effort of the individual. This class is classified into a gold spoon and a soil spoon, which means that the gold spoon was born with a gold spoon and was born with a good environment and conditions. Otherwise, soil spoon means a person who does not receive economic help at all because his or her parents' ability is not enough.
It is so common that we can find anywhere. In capitalism society, this phenomenon is inevitable. If the background is different, the spectrum of experiences will vary. So it is hard to ignore the spoon. To reduce this, various policies was operated. Such as, the prohibition of private education, and the introduction of university entrance system, etc. However, the policies didn't have much effect. We need to reduce this social gap. The spoon theory causes polarization and social problems. Therefore, we must find the practical alternatives as soon as possible.
