The Panoplie effect is a phenomenon in which a person purchases a specific product and identifies himself or herself with a group expected to be a consumer of the same product. Whether you want to be an upper class or want to increase your status leads to the purchase of a specific product. Customers who purchase a particular product do not necessarily need the specific functionality of that product. They want to become trend leader. The worse the economy, the more likely it is.
