Introduction to Sociology/Demography/Daeun Kim

1.Summary
Demographic statistics are the study of demography. It involves the study of the size, structure, and distribution of population, and how the population changes over time, death, migration, and aging. Demographic statistics have developed because demographics are necessary to explain sociological phenomena at social dimension. Demographic studies are a powerful tool to describe many sociological phenomena. Demographics are typically described as models and theories explaining the conversion of births and deaths as part of the nation's economic development. Because demographic statistics are interested in changes in human populations, it is very interesting that demographic statisticians focus on specific indicators of change. The most important indicator is birth and death. Also, demographic statisticians are interested in migration trends and migration from one location to another. One of the most powerful predictor of fertility rates is the education level of women. The birth rate is also closely related to the national development level. The best predictor of mortality is education. Other factors related to life include wealth, race, satisfaction, large social networks, and job satisfaction. Population growth and overpopulation problems can also be addressed in demographic studies. Overpopulation means that humans exceed their ecological capacity. The overpopulation is serious because it can become a more serious threat in the future. The ultimate shortage of resources, pandemics, wars, and lack of arable land are examples of overpopulation problems. One of the most important measures in the possible solutions for overpopulation is to empower women, economically, politically and politically to women. Where the status of women improves, there is a decrease in birthrate. In addition, family planning programs, renewable energy systems, sustainable agricultural methods, and environmental protection measures are important. The nation's birthrate will decrease and the population will decrease once the nation undergoes a demographic transition.

2.What was the most interesting thing you have read?
The contents of urbanization were very interesting. Urbanization is the physical growth of urban areas as a result of global change. Urbanization is also defined by population growth in the country's migration to urban areas. Urbanization is closely related to the sociological processes of modernization, industrialization and rationalization. The reason for urbanization is that people migrate to cities and seek economic opportunities. It is difficult to increase the level of living in rural areas, and farm life depends on unpredictable conditions. In contrast, cities are a central place to centralize money, services and wealth. Also, cities are places where wealth is created and social mobility is possible. Creating jobs and capital is usually located in urban areas. In addition, there are facilities for maintaining healthy facilities and various forms of entertainment, and education levels are also high. As a result, urban communities have much more diverse community communities. Thus, the move of people out of rural areas pushes them into urban areas, and these transfers occur in times of transition to industrial society. However, urbanization follows the backdrop of urban sprawl, including urban sprawl, urban cities, and urban cities, which develop amid dramatic increases in cost and urban sprawl, as urban development grows. In addition, urbanization has a problem with individualism.
