Introduction to Sociology/Aging / JiYoon Hong

Summary
Aging refers to not only physical but also mental weakness.
Generally speaking, age means a biological age. Social age, however, means the social role and behavior expected to be expected by the person of the age. From this point of view, we encounter Ageism. Based on prejudice, older people are conservative. Furthermore, discrimination against older people is not only psychological but also physical and serious.

Interesting point

I thought that Ageism was only happening in Korea, but it was interesting that it was a global issue that was researched.

Discussion point
In fact, many elderly people are living with conservative ideas. How do we deal with these seniors and how should we prepare for an aging society?
