Information to Sociology/Demography/Heechan Kim

1.summary

Demography involves sociologically analyzing changes in the number of people living on the Earth and interpreting variability. Demography is important because demography is often used easily to support a theory to explain one theory. In other words, basically, to know sociology, you have to know Demography. In order to determine the population, nations basically make people register themselves voluntarily (report death, report birth).  For reference, the number of children that women must give birth in order to replace the existing population is 2.1, which is now called replacement level fertility. One of the major factors affecting the demographic change is the birth rate. Fertility rates depend on national development levels and women's education levels. However, as the development of the country improves the education level of women, the birth rate is lowered as the country develops. Another key factor affecting population growth is the mortality rate, which is the opposite of the birth rate. Interestingly, the factors affecting mortality are education, which has had a significant impact on fertility. Population is continuing to increase because mortality is declining sharply, although people's fertility rate is declining. This leads to overpopulation and if familial methods are not found, starvation famine will prevent overpopulation. Countries around the world are constantly looking for the right method.

2.interesting

What I was interested in reading was demographic transition. I always had a curiosity. Why is the population so increasing as people are not giving birth and the fertility rate is dropping? Of course, even if the life of science and technology is prolonged, then the population should be maintained. Why does it continue to increase? However, the graph in this article solved my curiosity at once. It was the slope difference of the graph line.

3.discussion

The increase in population itself is not good or bad. But you may well know that the effects of these effects affect our lives in ways that can be a problem. And you usually know about side effects when the population grows. In fact, there are many side effects. So have you seriously considered the merits?

  1. Rather than an unlimited population growth, the appropriate number of population increases help the country develop. In a dramatic example, it would be better for ten people to make money than for one to make money, to develop a nation economy. Of course, if there are too many people, there will be many problems as you mentioned!
