1. concept (summary)

The aging society is the phenomenon that the proportion of the elderly people
65 years old or older among the total population increases.

Society is divided by the proportion of elderly people.
An aging society is when the elderly population is over 7%,
the elderly society is over 14%, and the elderly society is over 20%.

In 1960, the proportion of elderly people aged 65 and
over was only 2.9% of the total population in Korea.

If the proportion of the elderly population continues to rise,
it will become an aging society in 2018 and a super aged society in 2026.

Aging is a global phenomenon.

The aging of Korea and the decline in fertility rates are going much faster than in other countries.

2. problem

There are several causes of aging.
The first is the increase in average life expectancy
due to the development of medicine and economy level,
and the second is the decline in fertility rate.

Rapid low fertility and aging can affect various industries
in general and weaken the competitiveness of the nation as a whole.

In the long run, low fertility causes a decline in the workforce,
and the consumption population also decreases,
affecting the domestic market economy.

This phenomenon weakens the national competitiveness
by lowering the potential economic growth rate of the country.

If the birthrate decline continues, problems such as a decline
in the production population, economic contraction,
and an increase in national fiscal spending may become serious.

Also, the increase in the elderly population can lead to a decline in social vitality, and social security costs may increase if the percentage of people receiving pensions increases compared to the population earning income.

These problems can also lead to social problems such as intergenerational conflicts.

3. How to Solve the problems

How do we solve these problems?
I think that an aging society can be solved naturally if the birth rate is high.
