How does Gender Inequality affect our society?/Jinsu Bae

The root of gender inequality lies in resistance to discrimination. The most representative resistance is the women's social movement. In the 20th century, women's social movements became active. Although it is the additional influence of the European powers imperialism, the women 's social movement in Asia has begun to develop. This women social movement has been given basic authority, though not perfect, for women to be guaranteed voting rights and suffrage. But eventually it stopped at the institutional limit. In real life, women are still restricted in many areas such as politics, law, and business.

In our society, the existing role of gender is not completely overcome, and there is a so-called 'glass ceiling' which obstructs women. The feminist forces insist that the glass ceiling blocks the opportunities for women to rise. They argue that although men and women enjoy equal rights in law, they are still a bit short in real life. Most of these cases are often due to the power of the organization that has a pre-modern thinking style.

As such, modern inequality motivates groups such as feminists. They are largely divided into male and female groups, creating conflicts. This is close to a world-wide war. But it is not divided into man and woman unconditionally. Some men advocate feminists.

In conclusion, social conflict creates a bloody atmosphere as it does in any generation. This is especially true among men and women who have different perspectives. However, whenever the voice of rebellion breaks one glass ceiling, society sometimes advances in a better direction(here I defined progress as "reducing the cause of conflict.") In this way, I think that the right conflict makes the society progressive and harmonious.

But unfortunately, I think, it seems that not everyone's thoughts are objective and balanced.
