2.What was interesting/What did you learn

It is interesting that Drug Abuse and Crime are more common in the lower classes.
Crime and criminal justice in the modern world is designed to benefit the upper, powerful classes.

" street crimes, even minor monetary ones are routinely punished quite severely, while large scale financial and business crimes are treated much more leniently."

The upper class tries to maintain its status and power by ensuring that the lower class is poor and relatively helpless.
It is a little scary that laws help inequality in modern society!

3.Discussion Point

Can conflicts in small groups be explained by applying conflict theory?

Comments

  1. Conflicts between small groups can also be explained by the conflict theory. Even though the group is small, conflict exists everywhere. Although conflict theory is a macro perspective, I think it would be possible to explain the conflicts of small groups by narrowing the view.
