1. Summary


Conflict theory assumes that conflict and change are inevitable in society and are normal. Also, because of inequality such as finite resources and structural hierarchy, people always compete. The terms associated with conflict theory include class conflict, Ideology, Social class, Deviance, Proleteria, Bourgeoisie, capitalism, etc. Also, the theory of World Systems Theory is explained by conflict theory. Countries around the world are divided into the core nations, the peripheral nations, and the semi-peripheral nations. And Core nations exploit the resources of peripheral nations and semi-peripheral countries. Examples of modern examples of conflict theory include Social stratification, Wealth and power inequality, Drug abuse and crime, etc.


2. What I learned / What I was interested

I learned the conflict theory most interestingly when I learn social culture subject in the high school. Because it is interesting to learn the argument that conflicts are essential and conflicts are inevitable and normal in society. I first learned that Max Weber's claim was expanded from Marx's point of view.
