QnA/revolutions could happen? & Poverty/Jeong Hyeonsu

Some theorists argue that the growing inequality in some countries could lead to emergence of charismatic leaders and revolutions.

Do you think this could  happen?

I think it could be possible. Of course, it is not politically correct to protest against discrimination. However, some serious discrimination can not be resolved in conformity with the lines conforming to the system. In the 21st century, I think that possibility is very small, but I think it can be possible. I think that now here is a revolution in  a sector of inequality, not a massive revolution that threatens to overthrow the whole government.

Poverty in Korea is affecting mostly the elderly.

Why do you think this is the case?

Korea is a country with serious ageism. So, elderly people suffer difficult to find jobs. Although their descendants help them and country provides a pension and welfare system, these are not sufficient for most elderly people. Currently, the nation's elderly generation has not received enough money to save money for their old age when they earn their income.
