Introduction to Sociology / Q&A (17.11.07) / bo kyung Kim

Q1. How could we try to explain the gender inequality?

A1. I think because socially people have stereotypes that men are more capable of doing business. Therefore, it is difficult for women to be promoted than men.

Q2. Do you think this could happen?

A2. I think such things can happen.
Because, if inequality occurs, each people have their own status.
Those with low status will be subject to those with high status.
If this happens, a charismatic leader or revolution will arise.

Q3. Why do you think this is the case?

A3. In Korea, the degree of wealth varies from age to age. Usually, young people are rich, but old people are poor. This is because older people have a shortage of jobs than young people. Young people also make savings while making money, but the old people do not have much money left because they invest all the money they have collected for their children, Therefore, this difference appears.
