Introduction to Sociology / Gender / Na Kyung Lee

1. Summary

Social and Psychological Differences
Gender differences differ in society, environment, and historical background. And gender differences represent social structure. The gender differences in social gender can be identified by two examples.
The first difference is Work and Occupation. Work and Occupation are often discussed in the differences between men and women. Women's status has increased recently and women's influence has increased. However, women's education and skills are still considered lower than men. Women and men's wage differentials are still existence and not shrinking.
Another difference between men and women is education achievement. Although women have higher rates of college enrollment and higher degrees of employment than ever before, they are still harder to hire and wage inequality than men.

2. New/ Interest things

I was always interested in gender discrimination, so I was glad to learn about the specific indicators of gender discrimination and educational disparity between women and men. And I think it was good to explain the definition of sex in the material’s preamble.

3. Discussion Point

This material explains the biological, social, and psychological differences between gender differences. I think that differences can occur. But, I think discrimination caused by gender differences should be eliminated. I would like to discuss how to eliminate this gender discrimination.
