Education is an example. According to conflict theory, education does not contribute to social equality but rather maintains and deepens social inequality. Education is easy for high-ranking people, and it is not easy for low-class people to get an education. So the inequality gets bigger. Therefore, conflict theorists regard education as negative.
ReplyDeleteI think religion can be a example. People who believe conflict theory would say that religion makes existing power structure stronger, even though that sturcture has many inequity. And also they would like to say that, therefore people who have power will use religion as the way maintain their power.
