Why is god in christianity often portrayed as a male?
In the bible there is any reference about god's skin color, eyes color. Among the bible, Christ is just an Israelite man. We can't find any evidence that Christ has blonde hair and blue eyes. The reason why Christ was painted as a white man is the Catholic church which has the power of depicting Christ as a white man located in Rome. Most of Roman people were white, and general power of god meant their man of power. White heterosexual man, who has blonde hair and blue eyes, the shape of Christ they produce was naturally the shape of white man. Eventually, the paintings of Christ we see are afterimage of White supremacy. White person depicted Christ as a white man, and designate him own father to show off their superiority.
