Introduction to Sociology/Politics/Seungyeon Yang

1)
There are various types of government in the world. First of all, the monarchy is a common form of government in ancient times and medieval times, and still exists in England and Thailand as examples. Democracy means that all members of the establishment enjoy universal freedom with equal authority, and that power comes from the members of the state or society. On the other hand, Communism is loyal to communism and one party has power. Moreover, it can also adapt itself to the region like Marxism-Leninism and Maoist. Lastly, theocratic politics is God or a holy man becomes ruler of power. Examples of this form of government are the Byzantine Empire.

2)
I was surprised that the Government's shape was so diverse. The most interesting thing was oligarchic politics. I felt the lack of  detailed explanation or explanation, but I learned a new government form.

3)

In the United States, Wikibooks said that elections are held by the Electoral College, but what is the criterion and why? And I want to know whether such electoral arrangements affect voter turnout.

Comments

  1. I know that the United States is the only country in the world that uses the 'indirect election system'. I found that the US adopts the trilateral system because it tries to respect the autonomy of each state. If the 'direct election system' like Korea is implemented, the voices of 'Gyeonggido', 'Gangwondo', 'Gyeongsangdo', 'Jeollado' and 'Chungcheongdo' are hard to hear. I seem to use an 'indirect election system' to respect each state because America has a much bigger land than ours and it is hard to rule those lands.
