1.Summary
This article deals with politics, an important part of sociology. Politics is the process by which a group of citizens make socio-economic decisions, as shown in this article. Politics has the characteristics of power, authority, and violence. Power, for example, manages the distribution of public resources in society to the people. Authority is divided into legitimate authority, traditional custom, and charismatic authority. Although their characteristics are different, it is common for people to have a big influence. Violence can be a means of fairly strengthening government authority when used lawfully.
Governments that govern politics have different types. The monarchy has the highest authority in the country and is the emperor of the state until its death. In many countries, selective monarchies are introduced. Democracy has sovereignty over the state and citizens, and citizens have equal universal freedom. Totalitarianism controls everything, including freedom, by the state. The oligarchy is a political system in which a minority monopolizes social power. Communism literally maintains a close relationship between the state and the communist system. Theocracy is God's supreme ruler of the country.
Politics also includes political parties, which means organizations organized to realize political ideals. The last part of this article describes the impact on voting by gender, age, race, and class.
2.Interesting point
As I read the article, I was very interested in the American party system. The party system of the Republic of Korea seems to be each country for every political party I feel. But the problem is that each country takes advantage of each other. The US political party has a decentralized power structure and it is difficult to force the president to follow the administration's plan even within the ruling party, and it is impossible for the party leadership to predict that its members will vote on this line. I think our country should become like the American party system.
3.Discussion point
The part I want to discuss with you is violence by the state. A few months ago, a farmer was killed by a water cannon, and violence by the state became a big topic. Because it is the public power that violence is the only thing to be recognized, I think public power should be used within the frame of law. Sometimes, however, sometimes we are reluctant to public authority itself, as if we are cursing the water cannon itself. The opposite is also the case when we have too much absolute trust in the public power. What effort do we need to keep neutrality?

I think in order to remain neutral, both the government and citizens need efforts. The government should be careful not to abuse their power. Citizens should resist the government's request if they are unhappy with the government's request.
