Introduction to Sociology/deviance/Geonwoo Lee
1.summary
This text is starting to define the deviance. Simply deviating is a violation of cultural norms. Deviance can also be divided into two types of deviant activities. Officially, it is divided into crime (robbery, thief, rape, murder) and informal deviance (picking one's nose, belching). This deviance can be culturally divided, but it can vary significantly from culture to culture. This text then refers to the theory of deviance, which includes various theories(conflict theory, labeling theory). It also explains crime statistics in the United States in many ways.
2. interesting
Deviance theory includes many theories. I think I should talk about conflict theory. In conflict theory, white color crime is committed by individuals of high social class. The individual uses his power for profit. However, these crimes are clearly difficult to trace. There is less reporting of this crime and a higher social class is blocking it. What I think is interesting here is that while it recognizes the crimes mentioned above, it is difficult to prosecute and punish them proactively. it recognizes the crimes mentioned above, it is difficult to prosecute and punish them proactively.
3. discussion point
It is about the white color crime mentioned above. White color crime is difficult to trace and punish. So what are some ways we can stop these white-colored crimes? First, my idea is to create an independent institution of government regardless of social class. The members of the organization cut off from external pressures from personnel recruitment. After that, they are given the authority to work, even if there is a higher social class obstacle. Now I wonder what you think.
Nowadays, white-collar crime poses a serious threat in today's society. To stop white-collar crime, reinforce the level of punishment, they need to alert criminals.
