Introduction to Sociology/Deviance/doeun lee

1.     Summary

Deviance is a violation of social expectations that lead to human behavior. Deviance is divided into formal aberration and unofficial departures. The official deviation is rape, murder, etc. An informal deviation is either perceived late or late at home. Merton sorted out five different types of deviation. Deviance can be divided into conformity, innovation, ritualism, retreativism, rebellion. The structural-functionalist shows that Deviation is an important role in society. Devisions are required in various social situations. Devisions that violate norms also serve to emphasize norms.

2.     New/Interesting things I learned

I thought the deviation was unconditionally wrong. Because I thought the word was negative. However, I realized that the deviance has a positive effect. Deviance is also used to pursue other things. is a necessary phenomenon for society and it has a good effect.

3.     Discussion point

Do you still think Tatto is related to deviation? I don't think there's any reason why we should talk about Tatto in ' Deviance ' since the Times has changed. Of course, I understand that the deviation is not only negative. Just like there's nothing to do with make-up and deviation, tattoos are same case too. I don't think I'm supposed to be discussed, but I wonder what they think.

Comments

  1. I agree with your opinion. Talking about tattoos in deviance seems to be the result of stigma about tattoo. Because of this, I don't think the tattoo is anything related to the deviation.
