2. Interesting point

In the crime statistics part, I wondered about the percentage of people in prison and referred to the map.
As Wikipedia says, source : http://hdr.undp.org/en/media/HDR_20072008_EN_Complete.pdf

I looked for my country first and then China and Japan, which are close to our country. Korea and Japan recorded 50,800 and 61,794 respectively. When I saw the records of the two countries, I only thought about the gap between the two countries is not so great, but I was very surprised to see that China recorded 1,657,812. When I saw the number of people imprisoned in China's prison, I thought that China had a considerable scale, and I found out that among the three countries in Korea, China and Japan, Korea had the smallest number of people imprisoned in prison. So I once again felt that korea was quite safe.

On this page, the factor that causes people to crime again is stigmatization. What do you think about this? Is it really stigmatizing for people to commit crimes again? Perhaps the nature of the criminals is impulsive, so they may continue to commit crimes. Of course, several factors should be considered at the same time.

Comments

  1. I think, the social stigmatization is most factor that people commit crime again.
Because once stigmatizated people, even though they try to act good behavior, but other people's eyes on stigmatizated people still negative, so they expect they can commit crminal whenever. So stimatizated people get difficult job to earn money or can't get chance to live sincerely.

  2. Regardless of stigmatization, I think that a person who has committed a felony that is stigmatized will have a mental state that is not normal. They think that they commit a crime from a more fundamental problem. For example, I think it might be instinct or impulsive.
