Introduction to Sociology / Politics / Geonwoo Lee

1. summary

This text is about politics. First, text begin by explaining the definition of politics. In texts, politics is defined as a group of people that includes social and economic elements in the process of making decisions. There are various types of power in politics. Power distributes public resources, and authority is used interchangeably with power and can be divided into three types. Finally, violence, if used lawfully, will strengthen the authority of the government. Next, text describe the types of politics as monarchy, democracy, totalitarianism, communist state, theocracy, oligarchy. And to illustrate political parties, text talk about different party systems by taking the example of the United States and Sweden. At the end of the text, I use various materials related to the voting pattern to describe and finish the article.

2. interesting

I was interested in voting patterns. What I find in this text is that women have higher turnout rates in developed countries and younger people have lower turnout than older people. The difference in voting patterns is that political forces are divided into multiple tiers, which is also interesting.

3. discussion point

As I said before, there are many differences among people in voting patterns. So what are some ways to overcome these differences? The current situation is higher for women in developed countries. So what is the way to increase male turnout? And what is the way to raise the turnout of young people? There are many ways now, but I want to know your thoughts different from them.

Comments

  1. I think that turnout is in proportion to interest. The more people interested in politics, the greater the turnout. Because people are concerned with what they have in their interests, voting will naturally increase if politicians make a commitment that benefits many people or the government gives voters specific benefits when voting.
