Broad and narrow socialization
A new type of socialization created by Arnett

This posting is socialization posting. Socialization is the process of preparing human beings to function in social life. Among the various socializations, Arnett's broad and narrow socialization, which I have never seen before, was most interesting.
- Broad and narrow socialization that did not exist in the world
The broad and narrow socialization is a type of socialization that deals with a type of socialization that is rarely used. Arnett said that broad socialization is "to promote independence, individualism and self-expression. This type of socialization is called broad because it has the potential to produce widespread outcomes. " Arnett seems to be talking about the socialization that has been made in developed countries, which is a well-known democracy is well realized. As for narrow socialization, "narrow socialization is to promote obedience and compliance. It is dubbed narrow because there is a narrow range of outcomes. " This narrow socialization seems to talk about the socialization of a country where democracy has not been realized or is realized in the wrong way. Taken together, the story tells the whole process of developing real behavior that is confined to a much narrower range of individuals born with a wide range of behavioral potentials, or the customary and acceptable range of groups according to the criteria of the group . Arnett further argues that socialization should not be understood only as two choices, broad or narrow.
- Interesting points and my opinion
I studied social culture while studying social culture in high school, but I did not know whether such socialization existed. However, now that we have encountered this socialization, we can understand that this is also a useful type of socialization after fully understanding the definition of socialization. It is my greatest interest to approach socialization in ways that other scholars have not tried.
