Introduction to Sociology/Sociological Theory/Dayoung Lee

1.Summary
This article explains the theories used by sociologists when they identify social phenomena. Sociological theory is important to define why social phenomena occur. They are the methods that make people understand social studies.
The article also talks about the theories of social studies that have now become dominant, such as Structural-Functionalism, Conflict Theory, Symbolic Interactionism, Role Theory, Social Constructionism, Feminist Theory, and Integration Theory. Like these examples, there are many sociological theories, however, we must remember one most important thing. The various theories' existence is because sociological phenomena can not be concluded only in one theory, and all theories are equally superior to explaining social issues.

2.What was interesting
The description of the role theory was most impressive. The reason why people show particular behavior is due to the expectations of individuals and others. It was amazing that one person could influence and guide others ' behavior. The explanation of how people interact with others in this way was very interesting, and it was also highly empathic because it seemed to depict the aspect of our society.
But this theory is not perfect. The limitaion of this theory is that, for example, people are unable to explain why male soldiers have short hair. Although this is unfortunate, it was very interesting to read.

3.Discussing point
I was deeply interested in the role theory, and I would like to ask other people what theories are more inspiring. And I would like to discuss which part of the theory appealed to each other.
Furthermore, there are limitations to theories, and I want to exchange opinions of them.
