1.Summary
This article explains what sociology theory is. Sociological theory explains the causal relationship between social phenomena. Studying the relationship between citizen participation and TV watching or studying the relation ship between social phenomena and suicide rate are a process of sociology theory.
Then this article introduces kind of sociological theory and these limitations. Theories are divided into macro and micro theories. Macro theories deal with the whole social part. These theories include 'Structural-Functionalism'(explain that society is functionally moving) and 'Conflict theory'(explain that Society is made up of individuals competing for limited resources). In other wise micro theories explain the relationship between individuals or personal range. These theories include 'Symbolic interactionism' ( theoretical approach to understanding the relationship between humans and society) and 'Role theory' (A theory that gives expectations on roles).
And then many other theories exist(Feminist theory, Integration theory etc..) and are being researched.
2.What was interesting?
I was interested in 'Role theory'. Because it is interesting that the character of the person is defined according to the role. People all have a lot of roles, and it was interesting that one person could have multiple images depending on their role. So i think once again how important it is to have a role in the group.
3.Discussion point
Over time, previous theories have become unsuitable for describing now society. So what are modern features and how can explain them well?
