Introduction to Sociology/Being a Sociologist/cho ji won

1.Summary
This text introduces what you can do with a degree in sociology. In sociology, you will learn skills such as writing reports that can be understood by non-sociologists, creating causal hypotheses and so on. After cultivating these abilities, they choose two directions. First, 'Bachelor's degree occupation'. Second, 'Phd degree occupation'. College graduates with bachelor's degrees have many abilities, including the ability to recognize trends and patterns, concise reports and essay writing skills, critical thinking skills, oral presentations, strong interpersonal communication skills, and data collection skills. Based on these skills, graduates enter companies and anticipate their clients' behavior, enter NGOs and deal with social issues, or continue their educational activities. Secondly, Phd degree will be graduated from college and obtained through graduate school education. Classes in graduate schools are deeper than college classes. With such a high level of education, Phd degree students will have a higher level of competence. Better than students in a bachelor's degree. So they can go to the same areas as students with a bachelor's degree and become a sociologist working at a university too.

2.What was interesting/What did you learn
According to this text, Sociology is one of the top-ten highest-paying rare jobs in the United states and is generally rated as one of the most satisfying occupations. And united companies prefer sociology. This information amazed me. Because sociology is not popular in Korea. So I didn't know my strength as a sociology student. But after reading this text, I knew what it was.

3.Discussion Point
