1. Summary
I think this page want to tell us what can we do with a degree in a sociology. Most of sociology majors chose their major because sociology looks interesting and it seems easy. What does it mean? I think it means sociology is exciting and challenging and good to enjoy study. Many graduating sociology degrees are proud of the skills as a result of their degree and they absolutely understand about sociology degrees.
Sociology majors use their skills and abilities in corporate world easily. Because they are particularly well-suited for understand consumers. Besides, sociology is useful for NGOs(Non-Governmental Organizations). Because NGOs are concerned with social problems and social issues, so sociologists are useful for NGOs. Sociology majors can continue studying other field. For example, medical school and law school. In 2001, sociology majors of 42% had moved to medical school. So, sociology majors have so many option to choice their job.
2. What was interesting
According to the passages, sociology is one of the top-ten highest-paying rare jobs in the United States and is generally rated as one of the most satisfying occupations. I think sociology is not high-paying job but that was not in US. And sociology is useful for NGOs and quite a lot of sociology majors are moving to other field is a newly learned fact this time.
3. Discussion Point
I think sociology is not so good in Korea, and it is not hign-paying jobs unlike US. I don't have an idea with this fact. Moreover this text uses the west's stats. But I think west's stats and Korea's stats have so many differences in many situations. So I think this text won't much helpful for Korean.
