1. SUMMARY
It describes some of the most popular and widely used theories in the field of sociology.
The most prominent theory is that there is a theory of Structural-Functionalism and Conflict Theory and Structural-Functionalism and Conflict Theory tends to complement each other. While focusing on social stability as a structural-functionalism, the conflict theory is far from the stability of society. There is a scholar representing each theory, There is a scholars who represents each theory: Structural-functionalism-Durkheimian and Conflict theory-Marx. Each scholars evolved each theory. They saw totally different way of learning. In structural-functionalism, the notion of education as a tool for social maintenance is a positive phenomenon in which education is teaching general common sense to members of society. Otherwise, confilct thory seems education negatively reality that the establishment of organization is abused to pass down their social status. The relationship between these two theories is mutually complement, as they conflict with each other.
Unlike the aforementioned two theories, Symbolic Interactionism suggests that the relationship between humans and society is understood. In other words, the symbolism of relationships between humans is interacting. Thus, it confers social meaning to each other and recognizes society as a leading social entity. In other words, the meaning of society is to maintain constant information between individuals, groups, and social structures that depend on each other to extend each other's meaning and survival. The symbolism theory, however, has limits on how the meaning of each individual can be changed in the future, and how to predict how things will change in the future.
A role theory specifies what roles a person has to pursue and what tasks he or she needs to perform, and what outcomes are needed for a given situation. In other words, the character of a role theory is predictable, and it is said that the role should change to change one person's behavior. Therefore, there is a limitation in explaining the difficulty of explaining social deviations and how the roles and timing of roles change. However, analysis and insight can solve these problems sufficiently.
In addition, article presents theories such as Social Constructionism, Feminist Theory, and Integration Theory.
2. what was interesting
There are a number of theories in society, and the theories introduced in writing are said to be the most popular and accepted ones. Among them, there was a complementary part coming from distinct differences in the first introduced structural-functionalism and conflict theory. It was the most interesting part of me who likes to find similarities and differences when comparing two things.
3. Discussion
Of course, sociological theory should be used by varipis theories mutually complementary, but I think there is a theory that one would believe dominatively than other theories. In many ways, I want to discuss what the dominant theory of your life is.
When I first learned about conflict theory at high school, I found that fascinating. There was a factory near my house, and I saw labors demonstrating against their company literally every day. So naturally, I got interested in conflict theory. By the way, I've got to say that feminism is the dominant theory of my life because it changed my thoughts. Before I knew that theory, I understood the fact our society is not equal but If I try hard to get over inequality of this society I felt like the society would eventually change. However, I realized after I knew the theory. Something can never change by one individual’s effort. Until now I influenced by feminism theory a lot, and it’ll do the same in the future. So I could say the dominant theory of my life is feminism.
