1. summary
The title of this article is an introduction to race and ethnicity, but it is mostly composed of races. The word racial is rooted in concepts that are classified physically, such as skin color and conditions related to the body. Some sociologists, however, argue that race is a concept categorized by social structure and races to gain power like white people have strengthened this artificial classification. However, the problem arises from the discrimination against race, not the word itself. Racial discrimination is personal, structural, cultural and historical.
Separately, discrimination can be seen in ethnic minorities, for example, where mainstream peoples force minority peoples into the culture of mainstream peoples and ignore ethnic minority cultures.
2. interesting point
The most interesting part of this article is Color-Blind Racism. This theory reflects an ideal society in which skin color is not important. It may be an ideal idea in some ways, but you can see that there are some things that are not. This idea supports racial discrimination, avoiding references to racial discrimination. This idea can also be a means by which white people can safely ignore the disadvantages of the non-white population. I think Color-Blind Racism is a tricky technique that whites have created.

3. discussion point
There are many areas of racism. As we have seen in this article, it may be interpersonal, structural, cultural, or historical. Which of these areas is the most impacting sector for us, or internationally, and what is the solution?

I think that the most influential part of the world at this time is the historical part. The reason is historically that research on racialism has been done in order to justify slavery or to give a sense of superiority to one 's people through comparison with other races. I think these historical studies are influencing our perceptions to the present.
ReplyDeleteThe most influential racial discrimination I think is the racism of culture. Cultural racial discrimination differs from other racial discrimination in that prejudice play the greatest role and this changes from time to time. Having an interactive problem, this is more of a problem because of the international unconsciousness. I think there is something to enhance the attention of the individual as a solution to this. For example, I think breaking the prejudice through SNS is the solution.
