1.     Summary

This page’s main topic is what can I do with a degree in sociology. Sociology Majors don’t have common feature on their personality. Many students graduating with sociology degrees are proud of skills what they learned in university and satisfied with their education experience. But the great majority students felt they were not offered sufficient employment opportunities and information. bachelor's degree helps to acquire practical skills.  Appealing own skill is important to get competitiveness in job market. We can obtain a PhD degree further.

2.     New, interesting, or unusual thing

When I read whole text, most impressive sentence is “In an ideal world, just studying social problems would make them go away. But, alas, as you've learned from reading this book, we don't live in an ideal world and there is far more to do than just study social life with a degree in Sociology.”. We don’t live in utopia. So can’t stop at just understanding sociology, act something to change the world. I remind that sociology help when I need good idea for support social minority.

I am interested in the fact that almost 80% of students graduating with sociology degrees are female. The gender ratio of sociology major in korean university is similar. So I wonder why women is overwhelmingly more than men in this reference.

3.     Concern

 This wikibooks use west’s statistics. But education and job market at korea and west is very different. I think explaining what can you do with sociology degree by these statistics doesn’t do much for Korean students.
