Introduction to Sociology/The Causes of War/Jinsu Bae

 preface

Animals are mostly selfish, whether innate or learned. If this is nature, I think it is the best expresses of war.
The dictionary concept of war is as follows.

· An act or state of attempting to enforce the will of the opponent by means of military means or other means between two or more conflicting states or equivalent groups.

Forcing your opponent's will means that there is a difference in opinion. I will blog this through anthropological theory.

Theory of conflict from an anthropological standpoint

First, according to anthropological theory, the cause of war is said to be cultural differences(cultural differences seem to be fundamental educational differences) If the difference is eliminated, the war will disappear. However, it is not easy in reality.
In addition, anthropologists have not found an association in violence and war, which are caused by each of different causes. So, theorists such as Ashley Montagu emphasize the conflicting nature of the war. And almost every war begins by the whim of the leaders. Leaders strive to keep the system of ideological legitimacy of war.
Then, let's compare the history of East Asia where governed to Confucianism, and Europe where various ideas existed.

European War and East Asian War

In Europe, some countries had a system similar to that of a city state or was a city state itself. The reason is that Europe is composed of various races, but the main reason is because of its geographical characteristics. Each country in Europe, divided into large and small mountain ranges, is even different in culture and religion. So, war often happened. However, East Asia, which is relatively geographically flat compared to Europe, has a great central power of China, and Confucianism and national feudalism spread widely. The neighboring countries are controlled by the center and others are alienated. East Asia, with a proper system, had relatively few wars.

 Discussion point

Comprehensively, from an anthropological point of view, war seems to emphasize the fostering of values, cultures, ideas and the difference between them. However, there is no guarantee that education and training in self-culture will not cause any value or ideology that would cause a revolution. I think this is the real intention of human pursuing 'better looking' in a changing society. If this conflicts with society, will war happen?

Anyway, the war is not good...
